In the Shadow of Tomorrow, was performed at The Edinburgh Future Institute as part of the Making Waves Festival 2025. Danced by The University of Edinburgh, Dance Science Course students and Madeline Squire. Madeline created a 25 minute work to an exciting composition by Jo Paterson, with beautiful vocals by Sally Stenning. With creative direction by Camila Jimenez Pol and Alexandre Colle, supported by Andy Coloeman. With rehearsal assistance from Nicholas Shoesmith. The work explores our relationships with the future of technology. Expressed through movement we see the dancers feel the challenges, curiosity, eagerness and apprehension as they interact with artefacts and soft robotics. Creating a new communication between human and machine.
